Vacuum breakers
A vacuum breaker, also called a vacuum vent valve, protects vessels, piping systems or tanks against vacuum by means of specific ventilation and therefore prevents damage such as deformation and contraction. To do this, the vacuum vent constantly compares the previously defined differential value between the atmospheric pressure and the pressure inside the vessel with the current differential pressure. If this falls below the set value, the valve opens and sucks air into the tank, vessel or pipe until the pressure complies with the desired differential value again. So that your vacuum vent valves function reliably, you must service them regularly and constantly keep their valve opening free of dust and dirt. Only then are you optimally protected against vacuum damage.
